WordPress freaked out on me yesterday so if you visited and found a blank page, well yes that probably was the state of my mind then but it was a blog that would not publish!
Time was when I would wait quite a while before upgrading from one version of WordPress to another…and this was a small upgrade from 2.8 to 2.81 so no big deal, right?
Somehow my caution got left behind and yesterday I used the auto upgrade in WordPress and it vanished kinda…
…which means a database problem often caused by plugins punching each other silly and using up all the database space. I checked in my hosting account and the server was fine and my database was in overdrive.
As all readers of the “Hitch hikers Guide to the Galaxy “ know the motto on the back – written in LARGE friendly latters is “Don’t Panic“
Mercifully the support team at Hostmonster fixed it. ( Thanks guys and gals!)
And I was calm (almost) because I have the automatic database backup plugin activated – and I get the entire database emailed to me once a week.
Wonderful eh?
If your internet “Real Estate” is important to you make sure you have back up of some kind. If your hard drive crashes are you OK? I am because I have ONLINE BACKUP
